3、.Still,historical trends in the cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan can provide a useful guide for making such an estimate.Cost Per troop:The table below lists the budget authority and average number of troops deployed by fiscal year for operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan.1 For both wars,t
4、here is a fairly strong correlation between budget authority and number of troops deployed.2 This suggests that while there are many other factors at play in determining costs,including fixed costs for bases and other infrastructure items,a driving factor is the number of troops deployed.AFGHANISTAN
