Of the ten House vacancies, five were caused by death of these incumbents: JulianDixon (32nd District of California), Patsy Mink (2nd District of Hawaii), John JosephMoakley (9th District of Massachusetts), Norman Sisisky (4th District of Virginia), andFloyd Spence (2nd District of South Carolina).
