The statute authorizes, and provides for, the coordination of emergencymanagement activities by state agencies and officers. A constitutional provisionauthorizes the General Assembly to provide for succession and to ensure the continuityof government operations. The seat of state and local government may be moved toemergency temporary locations when necessary.This report is one of a series that profiles emergency management and homelandsecurity statutory authorities of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, theCommonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico,American Samoa, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands
